Blewett Pass

25 miles south of Leavenworth on Highway 97 Four trails, Table Mountain, Lion Rock, Haney Meadows, Naneum Meadow Elevation: 4,100 feet

Crystal Springs

Eight miles east of Snoqualmie Summit, Interstate 90, exit 62, to U.S. Forest Service Road 54 for a half-mile Connector and Crystal Springs Elevation: 2,400 feet. Also has dog sled trails and cross country skiing

Elk Heights

South of Cle Elum, Interstate 90, exit 93 to Elk Heights Road, south for one mile Two trails, Peoh Point and Taneum Road Elevation: 2,300 feet. Also has restrooms

French Cabin

North of Cle Elum, Interstate 90, exit 80, north on state Route 903. Two trails, French Cabin Creek and Thorp Creek Elevation: 2,250 feet

Reecer Creek

13 miles north of Ellensburg on Reecer Creek Road and U.S. Forest Service Road 3500 Two trails, Lion Rock and Snowshoe Ridge Elevation: 3,120 feet

Mineral Springs

20 miles north of Ellensburg on Highway 97 Three trails, Blue Creek, Red Top and Lion Gulch Elevation: 2,780 feet. No Sno-Park permit required.

Salmon la Sac

Just north of Cle Elum, Interstate 90, exit 80, north on state Route 903. Stay on 903 for 16 miles. Parking is off U.S. Forest Service Road 4315 Three trails, Fish Lake, Gallagher and Cooper Lake Elevation: 2,360 feet

Taneum

Interstate 90, exit 93 to Elk Heights Road, north to Thorp Prairie Road, south for 3.5 miles, east on West Taneum Road for six miles Two trails, Quartz Mountain and Murray Loop Elevation: 2,580 feet

Teanaway/29 Pines

Six miles east of Cle Elum, Highway 97, north to North Fork Teanaway Road Four trails, North Fork Teanway, Blue Creek, Jack Creek and Teanaway to Starlight Resort Elevation: 2,620 feet. No Sno-Park permit required.

Woods and Steel

Interstate 90, exit 78, to Golf Course Road. South for just under a mile, left on Westside Road for 1.7 miles, right on Woods and Steel Road for just under a mile Three trails, South Cle Elum Ridge, South Fork Taneum Creek and Windy Saddle Loop Elevation: 2,210 feet. No Sno-Park permit required. Woods and Steel is not an official Sno-Park.

BIKING

Every Level of biker will have miles and miles of fun in the Kittitas Valley. There are numerous areas to access for you biking pleasure. Starting with the "Manastash Metric", travel the scenic west side of the valley to Cle Elum and return along the winding Yakima River, or turn off half-way for the alternate 50 kilometer ride. Biking Trails

  • Fishhook Trail - Take Interstate 90 to exit 93 to Taneum Road and go west to USFS Road 33. Go west on USFS Road 3300 to USFS Road 3322 and to the South Fork Taneum Trail, No. 1367, which leads to Fishhook, No. 1378. Considered for experts only and has been ranked as one of the best rides in the U.S.
  • John Wayne Pioneer Trail - Head east on Interstate 90 and take exit 101 (Thorp Highway), turn left. The trailhead is just behind the Thorp Fruit Stand. There are other trailheads as well, less than a mile from the Highway 10 and U.S. Highway 97 intersection. With a minimal grade of no more than 2.2 percent, this wide and well-worn trail meanders through eclectic scenery, from rivers to forest and desert land. Considered good for novices or just the laid back ride. Also popular for hiking, cross-country skiing, dog sledding and horseback riding.
  • North Fork Taneum - Head east on Interstate 90 and take exit 101 (Thorp Highway), turn left. The trailhead is just behind the Thorp Fruit Stand. There are other trailheads as well, less than a mile from the Highway 10 and U.S. Highway 97 intersection.   • Shoestring Lake - Take Umptanum Road south to Manastash Road. Head west until the road ends and get on U.S. Forest Service Road 31, past Buck Meadows to the trailhead at USFS Road 3100. Considered a beautiful and easy ride.
